Progressive solar cell manufacturing for a high-demand global marketplace

Solar EnerTech Corp. is a manufacturer of high quality photovoltaic (“PV”) solar energy cells and state-of-the-art solar applications and has established a partnership in a Joint R&D Lab with Shanghai University for the development of research programs designed to increase the overall efficiency of solar cells.

Based in Shanghai, China, Solar EnerTech has built a sophisticated 42,000 square foot manufacturing and research facility in Shanghai's Jinqiao Modern Science and Technology Park—a newly dedicated high tech business park in the largest economic and transportation center of China. This facility is capable of producing 25Mw of solar cells from its current production line and targets 50Mw upon completion of the second line slated for Q4 of 2007.

Solar EnerTech invests in photovoltaic cell research to develop higher efficiency cells—and puts the results of that research to use right away in the company's manufacturing processes. Led by one of the industry's top scientists, the company's R&D program is rapidly moving towards bringing Solar EnerTech to the forefront of advanced solar technology research and production.

Solar EnerTech has also established a marketing, purchasing and distribution arm in the Silicon Valley region of Northern California. Demand for solar electric energy has consistently grown by 20-25% per year over the past 20 years. This growth has occurred against a backdrop of rapidly declining costs and prices due to increased efficiency of solar cells and improvements in manufacturing technology.

The photovoltaic solar industry now generates over US $3-4 billion globally, including the sale and installation of solar energy systems. In a time of skyrocketing fuel costs and increased pollution from fossil fuels, solar energy is receiving renewed government, business, and homeowner support as a viable alternative energy source.
